Dorrellian Communication
You know it’s not like I wake up every morning and think about what I can write to clown Dorrell or his coaching staff. I wish I could write fun things about UCLA football every day (just like I do while writing posts about Howland’s Ben Ball warriors).
But Jesus Christ people. What else can go through your mind when you read something like this right there front and center in the traditional media. From Dohn in the Daily News:
Ramirez moved to tailback at the same time linebacker Fred Holmes was shifted to fullback, but he didn't know it until he hit the practice field Tuesday.
"I don't know if (the coaches) were talking to me or Fred, but (the coaches) said just to learn all the fullback stuff," Ramirez said. "So I went in there and studied all the fullback stuff, and I came out to practice and I was lined up at tailback. I was like, `OK."'
Again I won’t bother with any more snark. The story speaks for itself.
GO BRUINS.

The lack of attention to details
Really breathtaking.
My impression was that full back needs different equipment than the running backs. They need different shoulder pads:
If you play one of these positions you will want a pad that's lightweight, won't slow you down provide flexibility and unrestricted movement yet absorb the hard hits you will take.
Fullbacks, Tight-ends and Linebackers:
You might want to consider pads that use a plated front rather than laces. The reason for this is laces typically require consistently more adjustment than plated fronts. Another option you'll find in these pads is some come with vinyl buckles instead of elasticized straps to more securely fasten the pad under the arm. If you decide on the vinyl buckles this places even a greater premium on a "perfect" fit as their is some latitude with elasticized straps.
This is just CRAZY and sad. And yet you have folks telling us to shut our eyes and not talk about all this.

Something DD guys or anyone here can do
- forgetting Manny White is on your time
- burning Dominique Johnson's red shirt year because of sheer stupidity
- telling Ramirez to get ready to play FB a

How about...
I'm starting to think that Dorrell is addicted to painkillers/muscle relaxers, not to mention all the beer he drinks on the golf course.
Unreal.

You've got to be 'effin kidding me
I'm writing this down right now that there's NO WAY this team wins 10+ games with this clown at the helm. You can write all your confidence reports and "why not?"s all you want, but with Dorrell around this team will CERTAINLY lose games they shouldn't.
Inconsistency. Lack of preparation. Poor motivation. Poor game management. THAT's why not! And with that, any game on this schedule is a POTENTIAL LOSS under Dorrell.
The only saving grace is that expectations are high. DG will have no choice but to can his a**. Then Dorrell can go back to where he rightfully belongs: holding clipboards as an assistant to a legitimate coach.

Hey give the guy a break...
That's why the Athletic Department keeps talking about the high GPA for its players right? Cause they're dumb?
And maybe the text message got screwed up. Blackberry's have very small keys. F is just below T on a qwerty keyboard.

Maybe this is the KD thought process
OK, in the backfield there's this recently-married dude who is supposed to hand off or to throw the ball. Got it.
Then there are these other dudes in the backfield. Other people call them either tailbacks or fullbacks, but in the name of simplification to unclutter his mind, KD just calls them the other dudes in the backfield.
A player like Ramirez -- sure, he would have liked to have more specific instructions as to study tailback plays or fullback plays. But KD just wanted another dude in the backfield; he doesn't have time to make the distinction of whether it's a tailback or fullback.
With this, I hope you bashers will leave this fine outstandind coach alone.

Well done, Mr. Dorrell
Just wake me on December 2 or the date he's fired, whichever comes first.

Ridiculous
Oh -- and do players normally change positions a week before the season starts? Didn't they have several weeks for him to learn a new position?
